LINGUAL THYROID

Abstract

|
We experienced a case of lingual thyroid in a 52years old female patient. The patient suffered from mild swallowing difficalty and hoarseness for several yesrs. Laboratory findings showed normal thyroid function and imaging Stadies such as neck X-ray, MRI and radio isotope thyroid scan showed. throid tissue in the tongue base. The patient¢¥s symptom was mild, and fine needle aspiration cytology of the lingual thyroid had no evidelce of malignancy. We administered synthetic thyroid hormone to the patient to sup-press the size of the Lingual thyroid.
